Field Decorum
- The conduct of the Players, Managers, Coaches and Umpires must be above reproach at any AGYSL activity, game
or league function.
- Managers and Coaches must remain in the bench area during the playing of a game, unless serving as a base
coach or any other activity connected with the game. Managers will be the only person to confer with an umpire on
a rule interpretation. Time will have to called by the umpire prior to this conference.
- All players must remain on the bench during the playing of a game for the player's safety. Players may act as base
coaches, with or without the help of the Managers or Coaches and must wear a batting helmet.
League Standings (Upper Division Only)
A. Team standings will be recorded as games won or tied. Two (2) points will be awarded for each win, one point will be
awarded for each tie.
B. If teams are tied, the following tie breakers will be used, in order listed, until the tie is broken:
- Head to Head play: The record of teams in games played against each other.
- Run Rule: Total runs scored for the season to that point.
- Coin Toss: If still tied, a coin toss will be used to break the tie.
Protests
A. Protests will only be considered if it is in regards to a rule interpretation, not a judgment call. It must be on an
interpretation of an ASA or AGYSL rule.
B. Managers or acting managers will be allowed to file a protest with the Umpire-in-Chief
C. Intent of the protest must be made immediately before the next pitch following the play in question or before both
teams leave the playing field.
D. Manager will notify the home plate umpire that the game is being played under protest and also notify the other team.
E. Score books must be marked at the time of the protest as to note base runners, batter and fielders.
F. A written protest will be filed within fourty-eight (48) hours of the game so as to give the Umpire-in-Chief the facts
regarding the protest.
G. The Umpire-in-Chief will render a decision and notify both managers of the decision within a reasonable period of
time.
