Rules for Players
Amesbury Girls Youth Softball League
- No profanity will be allowed at games, practices or any AGYSL activity.
Player will also wear helmets if they assist as a base coach. Helmets will be equipped
with chin straps and will be fastened.
- Players must wear all catcher's safety equipment while playing at that position.
This equipment must be worn during practices as well as during games.
Catcher's equipment will include catcher's helmet and face mask, chest protector
and shin guards.
- Players are required to be in full uniform during games. Uniforms include a team
shirt, league supplied pants, socks and visors.
- Players are required to wear a good pair of sneakers, athletic shoes or rubber
cleats. NO OTHER TYPE OF FOOTWEAR CAN BE USED for player's safety.
- Players must be properly attired during practices and other functions. Players
cannot wear any clothing that promotes alcohol, tobacco or drugs or contains any
pictures, emblems or writing that is offensive, lewd, vulgar or obscene
- Once a player has been selected to a team, that player will be required to stay
with that team for the duration of time the player is eligible for that division. No
transferring of players will be allowed, unless extenuating circumstances are
brought to the attention of the Board of Directors.
- No sunglasses are to be worn in the field of play unless they are made of safety
glass or are prescription.
SPORTSMANSHIP
Players will conform to the Rules of the Game and abide by all decisions of
managers, coaches and umpires. At no time will players verbally abuse or harass
other teams or players.
